About the Commission Calculator

How to use the Commission Calculator
- Enter the Sales Amount ($) and the Commission Rate (%).
- Enter your Tax Rate (%) and an optional Base Salary.
- Press Calculate Earnings.
Formula and method
Commission = Sales Γ Rate Γ· 100. Net = (Commission + Base salary) β tax.
Worked example
$50,000 in sales at a 5% rate earns $2,500 commission. After a 20% tax rate, that is $2,000 net, plus any base salary.
A simple commission. A 5% commission on a 200,000 sale pays 10,000. If the plan splits it 70/30 with a broker, you receive 7,000.
When to use the Commission Calculator

Common mistakes to avoid
- Applying the commission to the wrong base, such as gross instead of net sales.
