Formula and method
Cost = (input tokens ÷ 1,000,000 × input price) + (output tokens ÷ 1,000,000 × output price), multiplied by the number of requests. Prices are quoted per million tokens and output tokens usually cost more than input tokens.
Tips
- As a rough guide, one token is about four characters or three-quarters of a word in English.
